How I became a translator specializing in life sciences

Nature has always been a passion of mine, so it was only natural that I graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with a Master's degree in Biology. After graduation, I had a short adventure at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where I was involved in in vitro plant culture and researched the possibility of genetic transformation. The next stage was much longer – 25 years of working in various positions (e.g. Technical Service Specialist, Technical Service & Customer Service Supervisor, Office Manager, Trade Compliance Officer) at the Polish branch of Sigma-Aldrich (acquired by Merck in 2015), where I used (technical) English daily. In 2019, I decided to try my hand at my own business and a new profession for me, combining my education, many years of experience in the life sciences industry, and the specialized vocabulary I learned over the years. This is how I started my translation business. For additional support, and personal development, I graduated from the Postgraduate Studies for Specialized Translators at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. I translate with an eye for quality and detail. I often and willingly consult with experts to ensure the highest level of content in the translated texts and at the same time broaden my knowledge – I really like this aspect of my work.
